11/06/2017: SEARCH IS ON FOR 10 OUTSTANDING YOUNG FIL-AMS FOR THE 6th FYLPRO

 

The search is on for the next batch of young Filipino Americans who will participate in the 6th Filipino American Youth Leadership Program (FYLPRO) to be held in the Philippines on October 8-14, 2017.

Launched in 2012 the FYLPro initiative aims to tap outstanding young Filipino Americans who possess a sincere desire to be engaged in their respective communities and promote the Philippines’ further development. The immersive program will afford them the opportunity to meet and dialogue with the highest officials and policymakers in the Philippines, leaders of industry, legislators, media, artists and cultural experts, entrepreneurs (both traditional and social), as well as innovators in different fields.

Every year, FYLPRO works with the Philippine Embassy and the Consulates General in the United States to search for the 10 most outstanding, next-generation Filipino-Americans or Filipinos in the United States to participate in its distinguished Immersion Program in the Philippines, who meet the following criteria:

1. No younger than 25 years old and no older than 40 years old by 8 October 2017;


2. Demonstrated leadership skills within their school, community, workplace or other area of involvement;

3. Possesses the potential or involvement in the Filipino community, or on issues and/or activities that align with the interest of the Filipinos and/or Filipino American community in the Philippines and in the US, respectively; and

4. Ready and capable of traveling to the Philippines, arriving in Manila on 7 October 2017 and departing no earlier than 14 October 2017. If selected, the program will shoulder airfare and accommodations
