28/10/2016: PHL CONSULATE ATTENDS COMMENCEMENT EXERCISES AT THE DANIEL K. INOUYE- ASIA- PACIFIC CENTER FOR SECURITY STUDIES IN HONOLULU

The Philippine Consulate General in Honolulu, represented by Consul Roberto T. Bernardo and AFP Liaison Officer to U.S. Pacific Command Captain Rey T. Dela Cruz, attended the commencement exercises of participants of the Advanced Security Cooperation Course (ASC 16-2) at the Daniel K. Inouye- Asia Pacific Center for Security Studies (DKI-APCSS) on October 26, 2016.

The Filipino participants were:

1. Police Chief Inspector Lalaine M. Banares, Philippine National Police
2. Commander Jayson A. Manaligod, Philippine Navy
3. Col. Reno P. Tolention, Philippine Army
4. Mr. Anwar Ito, Department of Foreign Affairs

The Advance Security Cooperation course is a five-week study for mid-career and senior security practitioners from across the Asia- Pacific Region. The course aims to enhance the capability of each participant in the areas of critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and decision-making in complex and culturally-diverse environments.

This year, there were 112 participants coming from 36 diverse countries or places such as, Bhutan, Federated States of Micronesia, India, Myanmar, Nepal, People’s Republic of China, Philippines, Timor-Leste, Republic of Korea, Tonga, United States, Vietnam, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Japan, Laos, Malaysia, Maldives, Papua-New Guinea, Solomon Islands, Thailand, Colombia, New Zealand, Australia, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Republic of Marshall Islands, Cambodia, Mongolia, Samoa, Singapore, Kiribati, Peru, Hong Kong, and Vanuatu.(END).
