16/08/2016: ADVISORY ON HOW TO CLAIM NEW PASSPORTS

(16 August 2016, Honolulu, Hawaii) The Philippine Consulate General wishes to remind the public that Philippine passports may be claimed through any of the following means:

PERSONAL APPEARANCE

  • The applicant should present the official receipt (O.R.) to the consular officer to claim his/her passport. In case where the O.R. is unavailable, a valid government-issued photo ID (Permanent Residence Card, State ID, Driver’s License, etc) may be presented.

IF UNABLE TO PERSONALLY CLAIM THE PASSPORT

  • A letter signed by the applicant, authorizing his/her representative to claim the passport on his/her behalf. The designated representative should present to the consular officer the O.R. and a valid photo ID.
  • A self-addressed return envelope, with appropriate stamps for express or priority mail with tracking numbers via US Postal Service (US$6.45), or with prepaid mailing envelope from a private courier of choice, if passport is to be mailed back.

The Philippine Consulate General wishes to inform the public that consistent with its efforts to streamline its consular services and pursuant to auditing rules and regulations, it will no longer collect mailing fees from applicants, effective  1 September 2016. Applicants should be able to provide their own self-addressed, self-stamped envelopes for mailing of their passports.

Thank you very much (END).
