17/08/2016: ADVISORY ON THE HEPATITIS A OUTBREAK IN HAWAII

 

The Philippine Consulate General in Honolulu wishes to inform the Filipino American Community regarding the Hepatitis A outbreak in Hawaii. According to the State of Hawaii Department of Health (DOH), it is continuously investigating a group of hepatitis A infection in the state. As of this date, there have been 206 confirmed cases of hepatitis A in the islands between 12 June to 09 August 2016.

In this regard, the Philippine Consulate General echoes the DOH's advice for Hawaii Dresidents to consider getting vaccinated against the Hepatitis A virus, and to consult with their healthcare providers about prevention of this disease. Thank you very much.
