COMELEC EXTENDS PERIOD FOR FILING OF APPLICATION FOR REACTIVATION OF VOTER RECORDS

The Philippine Consulate General in Honolulu announces that the Commission on Elections has extended the period of filing of Application for Reactivation from October 31, 2015 to December 9, 2015.

Voters whose records have been deactivated last September 30, 2015 as announced by the Consulate General will now have an extended period by which to file for reactivation of their voter records.

COMELEC has also simplified the process of filing the Application for Reactivation (OVF No. 1G) by allowing either :

1.  Sending a copy of the duly accomplished OVF No. 1G via email to overseasvoting.reactivation@comelec.gov.ph or through facsimile to (+632) 521-2952 ;

1.  Personally or through mail at Philippine Consulates/Embassies or at the Office for Overseas Voting.

The form for Application for Reactivation is available at the Consulate General or may be downloaded from the COMELEC (www.comelec.gov.ph) and the Department of Foreign Affairs-Overseas Voting Secretariat (DFA-OVS) website (www.dfa-oavs.gov.ph).

However the deadline for Registration / Certification as Overseas Voter  remains the same, and is set to end October 31, 2015. (END).
